Up for sale is a 1988 FJ62. It sat in a field for a number of years and I bought it off a farmer. I had hoped to fix it up as part of a marketing campaign for The Rust Farmers. This is being sold personally and not through the business.
My Brother-in-law, bless his heart, went and looked at it for me and told me it has a little rust in the fender well, but other than that it’s in great shape. When I finally picked it up and dug into it, it’s a project bigger than I can take on.
I’d like to see someone save it. I know the 60/62 series bodies are being reproduced in China by the same folks who are making the 40 series.
The Good: It starts right up. It drives, though because it’s sat so long brake lines are dry rotted.
The Bad: It has rust in a pillar, and a few panels. Compression is low on a cylinder.
The Ugly: The frame is out of square by 1.5 inches from corner to corner. Probably due to a front end collision.
I had the one and only Mr. Tor Slinning of @torfab do a once over on it for me. I’ve attached the shop write-up on the rig.
I will entertain any and all reasonable offers.
