And like that we found out why the coconuts were salty.<Snip> I don't foresee getting into another BJ anytime soon
It’s not buried too much. Since it’s on the outside of the oil cooler, I don think you will loose any coolant, but I need to inspect it a little more before that decision.Black FIPG may work. How hard is that to get to when everything is assembled? If it's buried deep I'd wait for the gasket.

Edit: I suppose I could make one, but it’s not the most fun to trace out.
Next time you're at China Freight, pick up a set of these, they come in handy.
Those things like filling up the unused bolt holes in my engine if I keep it uncovered outside.Next time you're at China Freight, pick up a set of these, they come in handy.
I feel your pain, I just had a similar week working on the Prado. Only accomplished about a third of what I set out to do, had to leave it without brakes for the next week while I wait on parts to arrive.
Hopefully the thermostat housing gasket is all that is wrong with your cooling system. Shame about the primer pump, seems like something always fails if a vehicle sits for any length of time.
damn, that sucks, just make a gasket, i havent seen a metal gasket for that one.... seems like it shouldnt be to me
