I got an 87 pickup, king cab. It is tan.
The truck received a new 22re last winter, 2 weeks out of the shop it stuck a valve. When the engine went in it also got new injectors, new clutch, new radiator and more. The valve did put a tiny mark in the piston but it is very small and I don't see any issues running it this way.
Truck has new tires, nice 31" with lot's of sipping for winter. Recent front end work including, new CVs, new tres, new brakes. In the bed is a spare 22RE as well as a 22R from an 85 p/u. You can get a core refund on these or use them for parts. The spare 22RE was new and at 20k miles when it wore a hole in the timing case cover letting coolant into the oil system. Stupid machine shop didn't replace the timing chain guides when they rebuilt it. Other than this it was a good solid engine.
This is a great truck for using locally in your area, cheap transpo, good truck for a teenager or great to build up into an off-roader or overland truck. All it needs is the head fixed and it is ready to rock.
I am going to fix the truck and sell it but I am putting it up here now because I have a ton on my plate currently. I will be going for $3500+once fixed and ready to rock. I will let it go as is for $2500. New head only costs $300 and what $80 or so for an OEM head gasket.
Chassis has surface rust only. Bed is starting to bleed some rust. Cab is fairly rust free.
