1987 Honda XL600R Dual Sport - SOLD

BIKE HAS BEEN SOLD.....

I have a 1987 Honda XL600R dual-sport motorcycle I'm looking to sell. Has 5,510 original miles. I am the third owner - the original owner is a friend of a good friend of mine. My friend bought it from his friend (original owner), had it in his garage for several years as a pending project, until I bought it 3 years ago and put it on the road for use as a commuter to the train station - about 3 miles each way. I've put about 2,500 miles on the bike since I've owned it, riding it most days I commuted to the office. The bike is in great shape. I need to sell, as I recently changed jobs and am not using the bike to commute any more. My 80 Series is not the ideal commuter, so the bike is being sold to fund the purchase of a small commuter car I can run back and forth to work in.

Specifics: Bike has Dunlop dual sport tires (more street than dirt), White Bros. suspension, Clarke 5 gallon fuel tank, Supertrapp exhaust. Oil changed every 1,000 miles. Carb was rebuilt when I purchased it. New fork seals, fork boots, front brakes, and some oil seals (to fix minor leak from shifter shaft). All lights and switches work. Current CA registration - bike is plated for street use. Comes with an extra set of wheels with dirt tires if you want to offroad it, plus spare fenders, lights, fork, bars, etc., shop manual and original owners manual. I also have the original suspension components for it. Title in hand in my name. Receipts are available for all work I have done to it. The bike has great power, and is a blast to ride. This bike is known for its durability, ease of maintenance, and reliability.

I'm asking $1,800 for it, pretty firm on the price with the extras and the shape it is in. I'm in the Northern California Bay Area. Not really interested in shipping, but if you really want it and are not local, we can discuss. This bike has been 100% reliable. Even on 30-degree December mornings, the bike starts up every time (it is a kick-start). Hate to let it go, but it needs to be used, and I won't have much time to ride for fun.

I have pics of the bike. If you are interested, PM me with your email address and I will send them along. I'm happy to answer any questions via PM as well.

Cheers,
Brian
