So last Tuesday I was driving my 40 to a golf tournament down 31 in Montgomery and about 100 yards of the road under a shed and behind some weeds was a 60 series. I did a little detective work and tracked down the owner and made him an offer and got a screaming deal and now it's mine. I bought it not running and had no idea of issues it may have had. Today I took it to my mechanic and had a troll hole carb installed, some transfer case work, and a battery later it runs like a top. Cool fact, it was built in September 1985 which is when I was born.

It's in immaculate shape inside and has only one area of rust. AC doesn't work but I'll fix that next. Now that I have a 40, a 60, and a 100 the wife said one has to go by July. Shunt has dibs on the 40, French on the 60 and if someone wants dibs a 100 let me know.

Nice stock FJ60. I would lose the obnoxious running boards. The rear window tint is not stock. If it's not in good condition I'd scrape that junk off. If the stock carb was pulled in favor of the Trollhole make sure you hang on the stock carb.

Nice find.

sell one? hell, you are only 1/2 way through with the collection. You still need a 55, 80 and 200.

then, you can start collecting sub models... 62, fj/fzj, fj45..... non-US models.....

:flipoff2:

Had an issue of it running rough today and cutting out. I think water got in the tank since there was no fuel filler cap and I washed it yesterday. Drained the gas tank and put a fuel filter on it (PO didn't have a fuel filter, it was bypassed). So that seems to have solved it. It still cuts out/bogs down when I'm getting going in first or stab the throttle. Picks back up almost immediately. Maybe a tank of gas and bottle of ISO heat will take care of all it. Ideas?

Also, since it's cleaned up the passenger front fender is duller than the rest. It almost looks like the clear coat has rubbed off. All the chrome across the bottom from the door to fender is good, the pin striping is still perfect and lined up, and it is all aligned correctly. Maybe it was replaced with one with a correct pinstripe or maybe it has faded differently than every other panel. No idea but it is apparent when it's all clean and in the right light.

I'm sure French won't want it now...

UGH, that 40 is SO out of place. Lemme hold it.

Sure is. Wanna sell the 60 before you get in too deep ?

Holler if you have any 60 series specific questions.

I'll hang onto it for now. Wouldn't want you to get overwhelmed with too many 60s.
