I called Holley Tech Support. The guy had me bump idle to 750 and rerun the wizard. It fixed everything... Hahahaha. Apparently, the Sniper learns bad habits if you have other issues. So changing your distributor might mean you need to reset your Sniper.

13.3 AFR is a little rich. 13.3 air to 1 fuel. (14.7 is ideal but not for a heavy cruiser with high wind resistance.) Even at high altitude, the ratio should strive for the same even though there is let air available.

I also just realized I had it backwards. Lower number is richer. 🙈

I knew you knew, lol. Trips up the best of us.
Another thing since the reset, my fuel pump is quiet now. I can't tell you how nice it is to not have to hear that thing. It was so loud, I could hear it from my house while the truck idled in the driveway. I finally have it where I intended it to be. The bog appears to have gone away! I wanna go wheeling so bad now..

My apologies for the Hijack.
Looking for suggestions here. Been going around in circles, seems y'all may have the answers.
1. How and where do you have the Vacuum Advance set up to the Sniper Running a stock Distributor?
2. I have my Idle set to 650. Cubic Inch set at 256.
Truck runs like a dog stalls at Idle at start up. Stays running if you feather the throttle. If I get on the Throttle and let off it just stutters and dies.

Are you running a 2F? If so, advance from ported (right side) of Sniper to the port diaphram port closest to the distributor. Try setting the idle to 750 (you will have to adjust the idle screw as well). Reset the wizard and see if that fixes it. If not, you may have ignition, fuel pressure, vacuum, or ? Issues. I hope this works as well for you as it did me.

Not running a sniper, but my carbed truck had the same symptoms when it had a gnarly vacuum leak from under the carb and from the manifold gasket.

my idle is at 750. So you just reran setup wizard and went from there? Does that reset the learning curve to zero at that point?

can you save your current configuration? Then reset and see if that helps and if not reload your current config?

I believe so. Being it's a self learning system, I don't want my cruiser seeing me drinking or smoking. Lol... But it's good to know that it can be reset.

I don't believe you can, but you can adjust/fine tune some things. If your engine is in good shape, it will (should) run great right out of the box. Just got to set your idle, enter your cu inches, # of cylinders, and select which unit. Easier than tuning a Webber for sure.

Yep the Mighty 2F, I'll give this a shot. Thanks! ✌

@BGarcia88FJ62
I run my vacuum advance off of the manifold for now because my primary vacuum advance is shot and I'm hooked up to the secondary only.
Make sure you set your IAC per the manual.
For that return to idle stalling, try tweaking the "Decel Fuel Cutoff" setting. I had the same problem. I enabled it and set at .5 second and 300 RPM.

is it better?

It’s actually not had an issue since I chanced vac lines when I came back from the Ozarks. Feels good. Still crap gas mileage compared to @wngrog. Checked today and just over 10 MPG. Nolens clocking over 13 mpg on his built 2f. It’s a land cruiser not concerned with mpg but I am curious if I’m still dumping fuel....

Curious what others with stock 2f and
sniper are getting for MPG??!!
