Too many projects and too little time. I started this project (and a few others) over the last several years, and then life happened. A few too many major life events (some good, some not so good) and then the realization my kids are only here for a couple more years and they are already supper slammed with sports (and I'm the coach for one) and all the other school activities. We finished two projects together and we are still working on a third. So I feel like I passed on the love of "builds" to them. I would definitely love to finish this one too, but realistically it's not going to happen any time soon.
Selling my FJ60 project "beast". This LC has been in Southern California it's entire life and the beauty of the floor boards, frame, body mounts, etc show it. Very clean, no rust. The rig has about 200K on it and the body has the usual dings and dents. See the pics. I bought this with the intention of building a bad as$, CA legal, EMP proof, go anywhere rig. The original motor and tranny are gone. I have a 1997 FJ80 with a similar setup if you have questions (built by Torfab / solid dude).
Here is a list of parts it comes with:
Super solid body. No rust.
Carpet and headliner are out and thrown away.
Interior roll cage 95% complete.
6.5 Turbo Diesel with 40k Miles converted to mechanical injection (no electronics). Brand new 4911 injection pump and lines (~$4500)
(If you're not familiar with this conversion, look up DB2 conversion guide by Bobby Martin)
700R4 HD tranny custom built. brand new build by Oceanside
Transmission ($2700).
Freshly Rebuilt transfer case with an Advanced Adapters adapter to the 700r4 ($3500)
Custom built cross member (?$)
Disc brake conversion (~$400)
2" ole man emu HD lift (~$1500)
Turbo master adapter ($200)
Pair of nice 4 runner SR5 front seats (infinitely more comfortable than stock)
FJ62 rear back / back seat (has head rest FJ60 does not) has burn mark on it but I was planning on reupholstering all interior.
All parts are still in box when possible, all others cleaned up and neatly stored.
I'm sure there are more parts that will come to mind and I'll update when they do.
Clean CA title in hand. Currently non-op.
This is a package deal, I'm not interested in separating.I'd be willing to trailer it and all the parts within 100 miles for gas money. But once Dec hits, I'm coaching every weekend through February.
Thanks for looking. I'm sure I'm missing some info, ping me and I'll answer any questions.
My apologizes, only able to upload 5 pics. Pls PM if you want all of them, ie. parts, floor boards, etc. or check San Diego Craigslist for more pics.
