1985 BJ40 - Help finding information???

Hey need some help. Trying to find some information on this Cruiser. I am told that it is a 1985 BJ40. Could not find anything that lists the Color codes, engine codes etc for this year to verify that it is what it says it is. So what do you guys think...

1) I thought 40's stopped in 1984 - told this one is from japan...not sure if the production years are longer there.
2) Based on the cc of the engine I believe the engine is a 11B

Any ideas on what else to look at/where to find info? Coming up short with my searches.

Do you know what country it's from? BJ40 has the 4 cylinder B diesel. By this late most would have a 3B which would be a BJ42. While pretty rare there is a BJ41 with a 2B. I read of some markets getting a B later. Those are considered poverty optioned. Does your have a three speed transmission or four speed transmission? Heard some even had a three speed mated to a split transfer case.
