Located in Snohomish, WA. I can deliver anywhere in the US via flatbed trailer for the standard Federal Mileage rate of $.70 per mile round trip. $15,000 OBO
Family owned 1984 Toyota 4WD since new, I have the original sales paperwork from Wilson Motors Toyota in Bellingham, WA. Comes with the Toyota owners manual and full Toyota factory service manual. 266,700 miles to date and original ignition key.
I learned to drive in this truck at 14 years old, hopefully the next owner will create some great memories in it also.
Full frame-off completed August 2025. Frame was media blasted, primed with KBS RustSeal then top coated with KBS BlackTop. Nearly every frame fastener was replaced with OEM JIS bolts. Every threaded boss in the frame was cleaned with a tap prior to re-assembly. Front frame was properly reinforced for winching using a YotaMasters reinforcement plate. All TIG welded. This allows the front bumper to be retained with a total of 10 bolts. Less than 50 miles put on the truck after the frame off and it’s parked in my dry shop currently. Truck has NEVER been wheeled off-road as I have a purpose built FJ40 for that.
The entire drive train, and underside of the cab and bed were steam cleaned prior to re-assembly.
1991 22-RE fuel injected engine, fully rebuilt, 35k ago. New crank, pistons, bearings, LC Engineering high pressure oil pump, NWOR header, K&N air filter, aluminum radiator, new thermostat and standalone engine harness. Exhaust has a small CAT with the O2 sensor mounted pre-CAT. The exhaust has a Dynomax muffler, it’s pretty quiet. The exhaust was built for high ground clearance, nothing is below the frame rails until right where it exits at the rear bumper. The engine runs perfectly and I get a consistent 19mpg. I’ve only run Mobile synthetic oil and K&N oil filters changed every 3,000 miles. I wouldn’t hesitate to hop in the truck and drive it anywhere. The 22-RE was swapped in 2011, Optima BlueTop from 2015.
Original G54 5 speed transmission. I run Redline synthetic oil and I replaced the shift seat with a Marlin Crawler unit. It shifts and drives great. Brand new OEM Toyota slave cylinder installed during the frame off.
Original Toyota transfer case, I installed a new Marlin shift seat in this also. Shifts great and the 4WD works flawlessly.
ARB AirLockers front and rear with a 4:88 ratio which is just about perfect to run 33”-35” tires with the 22-RE. The differentials were built by Marlin Crawler in CA and swapped into the truck in 2017. The rear differential is the V6 unit with larger bearings. The front differential is a high pinion from a FJ80 Landcruiser. They have less than 10k on them and the gears were properly broken in with multiple heat cycles and fluid changes as recommended/required by Marlin Crawler. An ARB onboard air compressor is mounted in the engine bay.
Front vented FJ60 rotors and FJ60 calipers. Stainless flex brake lines front and rear. LSPV delete, T100 1” master cylinder, BRAND NEW set of original Bobby Long Longfields, not installed. I’ll install the Longfields if you want that done prior to delivery for a shop fee.
A 1991 IFS rear axle which is about 3” wider, with bigger brakes was installed in 2017.
Full Old Man Emu suspension system, about a 2.5” lift. The truck rides very good on the OME leafs and shocks. Suspension was installed in 2017.
CBI front bumper which was professionally powdercoated. Warn 9000i, synthetic line from Custom Splice and Factor55 thimble for closed system winching. LED side lights on the bumper double as running and turn signals, aluminum hawse lead.
Rear bumper is a custom 1.5” DOM unit I bent up with a mandrel bender. Standard receiver hitch with a brand new Hopkins LED compatible 4 pin taillight converter
The entire truck has LED lights/bulbs throughout. Headlights are LED with upgraded RoundEyes housings.
Sitting in the truck is akin to being in a 1984 time capsule. Very little has been changed and the interior has been exceptionally well cared for. I just replaced the shift boots with custom hand sewn leather after the original ones completely wore out. The CD player was installed in 1996 and it functions just fine. Side plastic trim piece behind the passengers head has started to disintegrate from UV damage.
KNOWN ISSUES:
The body has a variety of dings and dents common to a 41 year old 4WD truck and I can give you the backstory on every one of them. The upper cab by the drivers head is dented, hood has several small dents, the driver side door/rocker is dented/creased. The passenger side fender is a Toyota unit (originally blue) that was repainted in 2004. It needs a re-paint. Paint has flaked off the rear underside of the cab, primarily at the rear cab corners. It’s surface rust but it should be addressed. I have a full set of driver/passenger doors for it which are very straight. They are blue and will need to be paint matched.
I replaced the original bed with a 1988 2WD model bed in 2011 and it was painted to match. The bed was originally black and it’s very straight. The tailgate functions great. Several spots in the paint have begun to bubble up near the body seams on the bed, no rust visible at this point but it’s probably there.
The windshield has wiper burn on the passenger side
Tires are BFGoodrich 33”-10.5x15 date coded 2011. They are “OK” don’t leak air but are fairly unexciting and will need replacement in the future.
High beam indicator on the dash does not illuminate, the high beams themselves work fine
The oil pressure gauge is faulty and it consistently reads low. I put a brand new OEM sender on the engine and that didn’t solve it. I temporarily put a mechanical gauge on the engine to verify the oil pressure and it had roughly 30psi or so at idle. I will re-verify the oil pressure prior to the sale if requested.
My father had a Specific Cruise system installed (cruise control) in ‘85 or ‘86 and it’s no longer functioning. All the parts are there and it’s hooked up, I’m not sure what the issue is.
The fuel tank is atmospherically vented, I can’t figure out the EVAP routing so I drilled a small hole in the fuel tank cap. I’ve got a brand new cap that’ll come with it.
