this might be sacrilege here but this is a hell of a neat truck....

saw it last night coming home from a business function at Rivertown CC. Looked like a Jeep Honcho...looked to be in excellent condition as far as can tell at 10pm at night. here is a pic of net....will get actual pics and info on it today or tomorrow. It is on auto mile on Hwy17 .

If it is in good of shape as it appeared from road...and no rust, good engine and tranny this would be a hell of a rig for anyone.

I think this is a later model of the J-series truck. The great thing about these full size Jeeps is that they never changed much in the body and chassis. That is basically the same cab/hood/bumper that Cat has on her Grand Wagoneer. It has a shorter wheel base, but basically that's the topless version of the Wagoneer. Looking closer, the fenders are flared more on that Honcho model.

I really like that "razor" grille, but Cat likes the "rhino" grille w/four headlamps. The NP208 tcase we installed under Bertha came from a J-10 pickup. It was a direct bolt on, we only had to lengthen the drive shaft, because it was a shorter tcase than the old one which had a full time 4WD viscous coupler in it.

Cat is very committed to Bertha, progress is just stalled for the moment. Next big change is going to be an engine rebuild.

yeah at first thought was just plain J10 but then with the graphics it looked like were on side driving by I thought maybe a Honcho. Going there during lunch to take some pics and find out for sure....LOL

There is a very nice J-series truck on the used car lot at Palmetto Ford. havent seen it up close but from the road it looks to be in great condition.

Here is the info and pics.
Price asked $8999 (owner is friend of manager or owner of dealership and has there on consignment)
1984 Jeep J-10
81,000 miles

**also has original hub caps and side badges that were taken off when painted...and will be included**
**VIN is visible in sticker if someone has a carmax account to look up its history**

Things I noticed in my walk around....
-engine sounded good according to salesman...air conditioner blew cold....did not drive self so took his word as I was short on time
-bed has been cleaned and then coated with Line-X
-paint job is fairly new but there are one or two small surface rust spots about the size of my pinky nail on left rear panel and opposite side
-frame looked clean and solid
-new BFG All Terrains all around
-interior was clean and without tears and appeared original
-front bumper has very light surface rust starting...looks like what you get when dust sits on car and then gets moist from dew or humidity and it starts rusting....nothing some steel wool would not get rid of in my opinion.

I think they must have printed out a copy of the original window sticker.....or some facsimile. LOL Or those are the options that are in it as I did not have time to check under hood so just took word of salesman to get the skinny on it. LOL

In that picture of you taking a picture of the options (2nd picture), it looks like Mama is the devil on your shoulder telling you NO, Dont buy this truck!!!

My family had a Wagoneer in the sixties when we lived in Tucson Az. It had that "neat" grill and Dad had cool hunting stories to go with it.

i looked at that truck last night. VERY VERRY clean truck. The interior looks almost perfect/ There is rust on the tailgate, which makes me question the integrity of the paint job and preparation before they sprayed LineX on it. For all I know underneath the bead liner it is all rusted out or will be. I really like that truck though but for $9K I could buy a decked out 80.

waiting at the right moment for the right 80 or 100. I think things to death.

sometimes after you have read all the reviews, done all the research, questioned all the reasons for or against........at that moment you go with your gut. If the damn thing gives you a boner when you drive it....then buy it. All else being said, a vehicle you love and are passionate about is going to take you further to happiness even with some imperfections.....than the perfect vehicle you got because it MADE SENSE.

I'm guilty of what BBQ boy speaks of too. Took me nearly two months to decide to buy an FJC, but damn glad I did. I was on the FJC forum for a couple months doing research and track VIN's over the internet to see what was headed to Atlanta. I definitely knew more about what stock was moving where than the salesman did. I bought about as basic a package as I could get and they couldn't figure out why I wanted steel wheels and no running boards. Even before I took it home, I had plans for it. :D

The J-10 above is a sweet looking truck. I posted it up on the GA FSJ forum (that me and Kitty belong to) and it's generated some good conversation there too.

Does that mean you are for sale big boy?
