I was amazed at the difference in NADA values for these two years. Anyone know why the 83 is worth so much more? Is it because 83 was the last year for the 40? I have both years and was going to sell one. Maybe I should keep the 83. Any thoughts. Check out the links below.

Well the link didn't work so here are the numbers:
Low Medium High
1983 2675 6150 9050
1984 2100 4175 5225

Book value really has no bearing on a rig 20 years old. Maybe a bank would look at it for a loan..But few banks are going to loan $ on a 20 year old rig (unless you back the loan with other colateral, or get the rig insured way over "book") If you total your fj60 that you value at $10k+, the insurance company is going to look at "book" value and write you a check for probably 25% less than that. (I only have liability on my rigs)

Cruisers are outside the book deal unles you have a knuckleheaded seller that thinks he has a prestine collector rig when all he has is a 20 year old in need of maintance toyota. I'd jump at the chance to buy up to 10 1984 cruisers as clean as mine at "book Value"

Probably not what your even thinking about by posting this thread..so, sorry for going on..
