SOLD: 1983 FJ60 3B-Turbo Diesel Atlanta
I need to sell my 83 3B-Turbo Diesel FJ60 4 spd. Purchased for a planned expedition to South America with my daughter this January, our trip has been put on hold due to the economy and job change. The good news is someone is going to get a strong truck.
$7,500.00 obo US. Located in Atlanta. New job is in California. Will consider delivery to West Coast.
This truck gets 18+ mpg fully loaded (camping gear, two motorcycles on the back and a full 42 gallon tank). 20+ mpg to and from work.
I will try to be as complete with the details as I can but this sale will probably take a phone call along with a visit and drive.
I have not owned the truck long, however, I have upgraded it quite a bit since I purchased it.
Odometer reads 149,000 miles.
For starts:
42 Gallon Diesel Tank - That's 800 miles between fill ups!
Rebuilt front axle. New bearings, new seals, new hubs, new brake pads. No leaks. Expert job.
New front windshield.
New center console, illuminated and painted FJ60 brown.
New exhaust from manifold out the rear driver side.
Added additional springs to rear to support hauling motorcycles and 42 gallon diesel tank.
Rear brakes like new. Replaced all parking brake parts. Works like a charm.
Rebuilt the lower rear tailgate replacing rusted steel parts. Have replaced upper tailgate it's rust free has defrost and windshield wiper.
Tires still have plenty of tread.
Dual batteries. Just bought brand new optima red top battery. The second yellow top tested out above factory settings.
All of the doors are in good shape with little if any rust. The door jams are in very good shape. The only real rust through area was a 18 inch by 2 inch strip which has been repaired in the driver side floor.
Special build out on the rear bumper to haul up to two motorcycles on a swing out. Also has a swing out for spare tire.
Truck comes with an interior roll cage. All seat belts front and rear in great shape.
The interior has relatively new carpet and is clean - not worn.
Land Cruiser seat covers have protected the seats which are in great shape for their age.
I have spent some time working on oil drips. Did not want a truck leaving its mark on my driveway.
The engine is sound. I have been using it as a daily driver but also have taken it on two trips of over 2,000 miles each. It has 32 inch tires and will run 70 mph down the road at 2,700 RPMs. I like to keep it at 65 which is about 2,500 RPMs.
It makes me sick to have to get rid of it, so I probably have not come close to telling you all the good news about it. Send me emails and I will respond.

The pictures show what rust there is on the body. Not a lot. The front fenders are basically rust free and the body is straight. There are a few spots along the rear fenders but there is no real cancer.
