Do you have any compression numbers on it?

I do not. It ran good on a sprung over FJ60 with 35" tires. I did not see any smoke out of the tail pipe and it is pretty dry with no major oil leaks. The guy drove it over 60 miles back and forth to my shop with no problems on the highway.

Honestly, I don’t know if it is too much or not. I’m in need of something to put into my 40, but freight VA to TX would be incredibly cost prohibitive. For a local buyer I’d guess you are pretty close on value/price

You mentioned he drove to and from your shop...Were the reasons he was coming to your shop engine related? Your asking price is what you think the engine is worth. You did also add the OBO so don't worry about "asking too much." You've only posted it for a few days. Let the listing marinate. I am in Midlothian so I'm just right around the corner from you. I'm going to the machine shop tomorrow to price a complete rebuild of my 2F. If the price is not within my budget then I might make an offer.

The owner just wanted a v-8 for more power, I got the engine but ended up not needing it for another project.

I think price depends on whether people need all the accessories. A rebuilt long block can be purchased for $1900 with a core exchange. If people need all the accessories, it may be a good deal. GLWS!

Sorry, I was wondering what year it was from--then I re-read the title and saw it was from a 1983. I guess I need to take some reading comprehension classes.
