Anyone happen to be familiar with this truck or it's owner?

1980 toyota 4x4 pickup

Friend linked me to it, he's looking to buy it. He's already thrown out $2000, the owner says he'll take $2500. Anything he should watch out for or know to look for? I know next to nothing about the pickups, so not too much help to him.

How bad? To the point where you'd want to do a swap to a 22R or something?

My buddy started with a 79.... 20r is a gutless engine, swap in a 22r at least, factoy 4spd has no overdrive swap in a 5spd, front axle has no trussing on it most of them are already bent to some degree gotta truss it and/or swap in an 85 axle. The cabs are really cramped, I hope he is a small guy.... but no I don't know that one in particular. Looks pretty clean and those are some rare options on it. Buy it!

Nope... I'd say skip the 20R, early models unless its an original cool old man truck.

Mmmmm If he's a short guy, get it and swap in a 3RZ! Sell the original drive train to finance the swap....
