1980 HJ45 Door Lock Jamed

The lock on my passenger door will not unlock. i have tried using the key from outside, and the unlock switch from the inside. Based on what i can gather, it worked before it arrived at my door, but was broken. my guess it was when someone was trying to steal the radio (all they took was the face plate). Any ideas as to what i need to do to get the door open?

You can gain excess to the internal lock works by removing the inside door panel, from there use a screwdriver to manually jimmy it open.............

If you take the inside panel off you should also be able to remove the lock cylinder to then get it fixed/replaced.

This happened to mine when an aftermarket latch got full of dust (read...don't buy aftermarket stuff...only OEM). I hit it with a liberal amount of WD40, (yes, I know it's not a lubricant...but I was in Batopilas Canyon, Mexico, and it was all that I had), and it worked.

Otherwise, as has been said...go at it from the inside.
