I just purchased my first Land Cruiser which was an original California vehicle up until 2010 which it then moved out of state and was repainted. Fast forward to current time and I find this beauty on FB Marketplace in Vegas and fly to see it on Monday. The original smog equipment is still all there to my knowledge and it is getting some little things done at BTB in Henderson as we type. I live in California and will be going through the challenge of getting this smogged and registered in the next few days and noticed that the emissions label is missing from under the hood. I was able to find a reproduction emissions label online at cruiserparts.net (https://shop.cruiserparts.net/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=5639_7555&products_id=36419). Has anyone had any luck going this route and is there a location Toyota places this label under the hood?

The emission sticker is located on the passenger side, near the back edge on the inside of the hood, as in these examples. For 1979 there was a Federal spec and California spec version. You will want the sticker that matches your 40.

This is perfect, thank you for the help!

Dumb questions but will the door vin plate specifically call out California for a true California vehicle? Mine has no mention of California and only federal safety standards.

Not aware of anyone currently selling the Cal versions of these stickers.

The door pillar plate is the same for Fed and Cal-spec.

If all the original smog stuff is present, the vacuum hose information or component part numbers may be helpful to identify what you have. These stickers were originally on the inside hood as well, driver side.

Thank you so much for sending this, I will check and compare the part numbers. The under hood sticker for vacuum lines shows federal but I will compare the actual parts listed by you.

Thanks again for the help!
