1978 Fj40, 105,xxx miles on her. She has a little rust in the back quarter panels and the rear sill is rusted out. It has a hardtop but its beat up somewhat bad and is missing a back glass. The doors and ambulance doors are in good shape, the driver side door is bent in a little.
She ran great, like a new vehicle up until Saturday. Im thinking its not getting good fire. It'll start up and idle but as soon as you pat the gas she dies. Not sure but i know its something simple. I was driving her on the highway from farm to farm cutting hay and what not but she died suddenly on me Saturday morning before i left the house and i just dont have to time or money to keep putting into her. Right now im anxious to buy another disk mower to go with a tractor i just bought. I love Landcruisers and I wanna get another one in the not so distant future but my true pashion is farming.
The bad- What it needs for va inspection, Rear right turn signal lense, front left turn signal, wiper blades, front brake pads, and exhaust pipe, mirrors, and a floor welded in the back. Like i say its not running at the moment but im gonna try to get some time to look her over and figure her out. Running or not shes gotta go
The good- Fresh rebuit carb, tank just cleaned, brake master cylinder, new distributor cap, plugs, plug wires, fuel filter, air filter, oil changed recently although its a little black already. Not sure how many miles was on it before being changed. like i say she ran like an absolute champ until the weekend. I've only owned the vehicle a little less than a year but i've used it since i was a kid. Say for 8 or so years anyhow.
I'd really like to get 2 grand out of her because im really sure that someone who knows the 2f could have her running in 10 minutes with a 100 dollar piece or a simple adjustment. Im just a short tempered person and am frustated to death cuz i wanna fool with this instead of making hay right now. Anyways im in Sperryville VA, Rappahannock county. 20 miles from Front Royal, 20 miles from Culpeper, 20 miles from Warrenton. Say 50 miles for/ less from Winchester, Fredricksburg, Charlottsville. Anywho 2 grands the asking price but im willing to get rid of her and if 2 grand sounds to high then someone tell me im not sure what shes worth. I dont wanna rip anyone off or try to by no means. I'll even help haul it to anyone local. I would much rather someone on her get her and make her into the champ she deserves to be but as of Saturday shes going in the Valley Trader(local classifieds). Cell is 540-522-3833.
