I have for sale a 1977 Toyota FJ40 4.2L 3 speed. Its been given a new paint job and some mechanical work including new clutch kit, water pump and resurfaced flywheel. No title. I'm really just trying to get rid of it so please send me any offer you might have. I'm asking $4,000 OBO. What you see is what you get. I am new to this forum so please bear with me.

What is from 77 on this? The only thing I see from your pics is maybe the 2F motor. Nothing else on it is from 77. My best guess is mid to late 60's. What axles are under it?

When I bought the car I was told it was a 77. I really don't know much about them. It was going to be a project between my dad and I but we got too busy and now we are just trying to get rid of it.

Where in TX are you? Is it titled in another state? What's the story there? If you're serious about selling it, I'd start with getting it titled. Most people won't touch it without one. It's just too risky for the buyer.

Where in Texas are you sure it is a 3 speed trans. Does it have a vin plate? on door jam?

Does it run or has it ran since you had it ? I would be interested in looking at it.

Southlake, TX. It did run when we first bought it but its been a year or so since it last ran. I'm sure its a 3 speed. I will get the vin number as soon as I get home later today. As you can see in this picture, it is a 3 speed.

Okay so here is the current situation. I talked to my father because I was having trouble finding the VIN number. He told me that when he first tried to get it titled he wasn't unable to because all of the VIN numbers had been removed. So, we came to the consensus that the vehicle was possibly stolen many years ago and stripped of its VIN numbers. At this point in time, it is just as is. If you are at all interested please feel free to stop by and take a look at it. PM me any interest. Thank you so much.

The VIN should be stamped on the frame in the passenger side frame rail just behind the front bumper mount point.
