Hey guys I dropped my 40 off with my Body Shop guy this weekend and this was sitting at his shop. I thought it was a Unimog at first but its the Volvo version of the Unimog. My body man, Gary says that this thing is for sale. I know it has the Volvo Portal Axles which alone are $5000 and asked if he just wants to sell the axles. He says he doesn't want to part this thing out but sell the unit as a whole package. He says it runs good and strong and only has 20K kilometers on it. The owner drives it a couple times a year to keep everything flowing. I don't have the cash but after drooling on this thing for an hour or so I got the down low. Maybe one of you guys wants it. He's not a mud member but I'm listing it for him. If you have any questions I will forward them on to him. PM me if your interested or have questions.

This was his email to me about the rig!!! :bounce:

Heres the pics I took of the beast. (which is what i call it.) it was on an expedition at the artic circle w/ overland adventures . pretty cool website
drivetheglobe.com Has a picture of it at the artic circle. It has the Buick 455 motor. hi/lo trans. Extra tire besides spare, an inverter system, solar panel, 2 diamond plate gearboxes, an extra canvas top, canvas awning, 2-8' ladders, a safari rack, backup camera, heli lights (4) extra spare parts (filters etc..) 3 buckets. the 2 guys i talked to from germany and london both said it's worth around 19,000 american dollars if it was over there. the guy that owns it now just got married. he wanted 25,000 but has since come down to make an offer. I know he'd like 10,000 and that would include all the extra parts for that price. But would take maybe 9. I had a ton of calls on it and offers like 5-7,000. and he wouldn't take that. i think he has around 15,000 in it. but not sure. i'd like to see it gone.

Give these guys a call -

Rover Classic : Welcome to ROVERCLASSIC.COM ::

they had two forward control LR's last year when I picked up my parts rig from them. They were selling them for about 10k each.

They bring them in from overseas so their inventory is always changing.

All you wanted ton know about FC101's and then maybe more:

Forward Control 101 - Rovers North BBS Forums

Rover used the 3500 GM/Buick 1960's all aluminum V8 they bought from GM. Finally ended up as a 4.2. Early models had issues with the cylinder bore slipping in the block causing pressurization of the cooling system.

If you have never heard that beautiful throaty growl of a D90 your missing something; early American small block...
