i found a 1985 fj60 with complete parts. what would be recommended to upgrade my fj55 with this fj60 from the salvage yard? i already took the disk brake parts off. suggestions.

Swap in the tranny/transfer, the split case transfer is a stronger transfer case.
You could also swap in the axles and everything about else from that FJ60.
Yes you really want to dump those course spline (15 I think) axles.
