The rest of the 3.5" exhaust that i pulled out today to fully weld up. You can see how pieced together it is, bad looking i know but i will be covered with exhaust wrapping so i dont care.
Finished up my intake plumbing. I went with the 3inch tubing i had gotten from mooktank awhile back. Turned out real nice. I made it like this because there wasnt enough room to go over the motor.
Some strips i welded on to the back of the cutout section to help clamp it to the quarter panel to help me keep both the cutout and the panel on the same plane...worked well.
No hoist comments Barry!
Used the hoist to work on the belly of the cruiser. Stripped all the original liner and mud off the bottom to get ready for the bed liner. I had alot more rust holes than i thought, so my dad and I spent a good bit of time repairing those. Im headed home again next weekend for labor day and I plan to spray the belly.
Thanks Greg
Ramon, i used herculiner. I got the black for the belly, and I got red for the interior which i plan to paint over freeborn red(its easier to paint red over red than red over black). I sprayed it on and it turned out just like i had hoped!
I will warn you Martin, Herculiner loves mud. Once it gets dirty, it won't ever look the same again. Then again, this is the bottom of your truck, so you probably don't care. I just wished I'd used a smooth finish on my interior because that rough texture grabs dirt, sand, etc. and is a biiiatch to clean.
I had the same problem on a previous truck I built, used it as liner for the rockers and fender flares, you practically had to scrub it with a brush to get the mud out in fear you might rub the liner off the truck.
I've seen stuff that you can add paint to, to match your truck paint color. It helps hide dirt. Or I guess you could always paint over it as well and that might help give it a smoother finish.
The herculiner was added to the belly to add rust, sound and heat protection. I dont give a rip if it gets dirty. I do know that the inside will be painted over which will decrease the rubber texture and allow for easier clean up like jason has mentioned. My brother blue cruiser was done this way and i like it very much. I hope to head home next week to finish the interior and spray it aswell.
Was able to get the inside completely stripped down. Most of the dents and wreck wrinkles out(didnt really care that much) and shot some primer on. Im gonna head back home this weekend to bedline the interior and start finishing up the rest of the hard-top panels for final paint.
