Selling FJ55 outright now. Make an offer! Trades considered if it makes sense on my end. Trying to raise capital for a new business venture.

1974 pig (Built 10/73)
originally from Texas
2F engine rebuilt with roughly 12k miles
4 speed with new xfer case fr/rear output seals
new parking brake set up
4 Wheel disc brakes
New rear disc brake calipers and pads
New 80 Series Master Cylinder
New Mini truck brake booster
New custom Exhaust
new clutch
SOR carpet kit
nice headliner
Air Conditioning (needs a fixin)
new dash cap
Aftermarket buckets up front
SOA with new shackles
Rear locker (Lunchbox type)
New oil pan gasket
New 35" Interco TrXus tires
extended brake lines
new IPOR rocker replacement panels (not installed yet)
New HEI dizzy
Made new door panels and rear cargo panels
New stereo with IPOD input
New pass side mirror
Custom driveshafts
glass excellent
interior very clean
Floors excellent except for one area on the passengers floor and another small area in drivers rear side
rebuilt rear window motor
Tons more stuff I've forgotten about
I'd like to keep the headlights and the custom dash knobs but will replace these prior to trading

Has some rust issues but nothing too bad. 2 body mounts need some attention, one of them needs replacing. The rocker panels need to be welded in but I have the new replacements from IPOR already. Drivers rear quarter would need replacing if doing a resto but works well as-is. There are about 8 small spots the size of a quarter that are bubbling through on random spots. Anyone with basic welding skills can finish this easily.

Life's a changin rapidly at the moment. Make an offer!! Not desperate to sell but slightly more motivated.

Are you willing to sell the trailer seperatly yet?

I have friends in my YT club who are first in line if I sell it so essentially one of them will get it if I can't make the trade happen. I'm leaning towards selling to one of those guys anyway. Seems the trade idea was a shot in the dark

Posting the truck on eBay to see what happens. Would trade the 55 for a 40 or a 55.

Interested in a trade for an 80?

That 55 you have is perfect. Just take out the spring over and return to spring under on smaller tires and use as is. I'd stop in at your shop if I saw that.

Wish I had a good trade.

You're not interested in a SOA 40 with dents but no rust are you?

That's a very good point!! The 55 is a very cool truck John! It would get great looks at a wine shop dropped close to stock height and smaller tires. Then you can sell me your winch....;)

Dude I think you're being way over critical of your truck. That thing is awesome. As far as drawing attention it will do it. People who drink wine are gonna stop at your shop because they like wine not because they like cruisers, people who like cruiser are gonna stop if that thing is sitting out front and you might sell them some wine too. If your really worried about casting a bad image on your shop just pick up a vespa scooter for riding to work. Or you could get one of these. I think it would go well in wine country. Thats just my 2 cents, which amounts to about ...... well you know.....so don't take it wrong. Good luck with your new endeavors either way.

All true. The town I'm looking at setting this up will not appreciate an SOA monster truck as much as you guys will. A stock 40 or 55 would be cool. A stock 40 would be better at this point since I'm in the rust belt and 40 parts are much cheaper and easier to come by.

Problem is to swap back to SUA, my axles are cut and turned so I'd need new axles, re-do the brakes and seals on those new axles most likely, undo the present hysteer back to a regular steering, re-run brake lines, possible lose disc brakes all around, having to sell tires for a loss then buy new ones, plus new driveshafts. Way more expensive than simply doing a SUA switch. Add all that up plus the fact I now have zero time and here's the spot I'm in.

Just because I'm in the wine biz doesn't mean I'm a Citroen type of guy. I'm definitely not a Vespa kind of guy. Gimme a nice stock 40 or one with a 2" lift as a good daily driver and I'll be super happy. I'll never have time to go wheeling again if this goes thru so my 55 will be an overblown symbol of my tiny manhood. I do appreciate the sentiment tho!!

come on, days work, plus you will be able to write it off
paint that sucker a nice burgandy or merlot, you are all set:cheers:
or else flipper blue:D

Bump for any offers out there.....

$1000 and a running SOA FJ40 with no rust.

Nice truck. I wish I had the time, space , and money.

I dunno John, a Citroen on 35s would be pretty b-b-b-bad! It needs a bug catcher pokin' thru the hood on top of a GMC 6-71 huffer, big block, four wheel burnouts ... teach them elitist snobs who dah boss is, LOL!

Seriously, you sure the pig couldn't be taught some new dance moves, maybe the name of your wine biz on the doors in gold leaf, kinda retro/modern twist on a delivery vehicle or ??? The color is close enough to wine that it's suggestive of the biz as it is. It probably wouldn't be all that hard to find someone to swap you axles straight across, etc. Just thinkin' out loud. Cool rig, good luck!
