Rear driveshaft is out of phase - you will have a vibration from that.

How do we fix that

A lot of good info on the Tom Woods web page.

4 minutes

Measured it boxed it and laser checked it for equal lengths both side looks perfect, now using a long sanding block to make sure panels are super straight, going with the original color Nebula Green was the factory color on this 1974 one

I am using a 2F I think going fuel injection on it with the 4 speed transmission, any thoughts?

My ‘75 2F is fuel injection…. Starts like a dream…summer and winter. Went this route since the engine came with a Weber carb and wasn’t really 97% good at what it did. I’m a fan of it…easy install and setup

Fuel consumption is not really that much different..I get about 14mpg. On the other hand…this engine starts no differently than my wife’s 2023 Chevy suburban. When it sat for 2-3 weeks…starting was about 30 seconds of cranking, a little rest, pump the accelerator crank again get it to cough and sputter a few revolutions..then crank again ….when it started, pump the accelerator to get it to idle…. Now it is turn the key, let the pump build pressure. Done!! Instant and smooth start to idle

There is zero hesitation when transitioning from stepping on the accelerator at any speed or gear..no sputter, cough or delays. In 4th gear, the pull from 30 to 60 is continuous with no flat spots. It’s not V8 power but it is noticeable. Hot starts are also instantaneous.

It was such an incredible change I also added the Mosley modified Holley Hyperspark and that stepped it up another notch…not a cheap series of expense but what a major improvement for me.

Any questions, please ask

I love that, I know I’m not doing a classic restoration I’m more of restoring it the way I want and building it for me

Did all the welds of the front cowl and tub the back is all original quarter panels are from cool cruisers the front floor board is from cool cruisers I feel like it’s better steel than original when welding it gave me more of a zinc feel than original steel which was softer

Covered it with por15 and Hercules textured interior going to do sound proofing, heat proofing and then a nice carpet front to back with speakers wiring etc let’s see

@arnak When I had decided to look into some of the mods on my 40 initially, restoration was a strong contender. I had a few really great recommendations from several highly regarded forum folk and decided it made much more sense to keep the style and design with more modern attributes…especially with my type of use.

The result is exactly what you read above. There are quite a few updates and each contributing to the net result. Looking at it, besides the wheels…no one would ever suspect it is so updated. Driving it? Yes!
