I finally entered my Corolla into a car show for the first time! This is my grandma’s first car, grandpa bought her new in 73.

I believe those are dodge hub caps, can anyone confirm?

I am surprised by how much that car looks like the Dodge Colt my brother had back then!
Was it a co-build?
I now see the "from Japan to America C/O Dodge". Maybe so!

***EDIT***

Never mind. I see that it was a Mitsubishi build.

Wow, they do have a very similar shadow and front fascia. Never noticed that! American/Japanese collaborations are always very interesting to me.

I was looking for something else unrelated today and I saw this Craigslist ad for Ford Pinto hubcaps and they look a lot like what you have.

I think you solved the puzzle!!! Thank you!

Now I decide if I like these and should buy a few extra, or go with a different period correct wheel… hmmmm

I might be willing to sell the 14's off my 78 corona. They're just another steelie/hubcap but I need to go 15's for my tires.

Not my car but same hubcap:

Man, those look good. I would have to think about it, but how much would you let them go for?

I have no idea. I need to see what it is going to cost me to put some sort of similar 15" steelie and similar hubcap, will also need to buy tires then too... for my car that doesn't have an ECU, or fuel system, or exhaust, or driveshaft

Oh man, I’ve been there! What are your plans for the Corona? I’m happy with what’s on here for the rest of the summer season, but will let you know for sure down the line!

What size wheels are on your car?

This weekend I tried to open my trunk, and heard my lock fall apart inside the vehicle. I’ve decided I really have no option but to drill it out, which won’t be an issue. Does anybody have experience replacing a lock like this? Will a universal option work?

Can you take apart the back seat and go in through there?

I had to do that on my old Studebaker, because they don't make parts for those anymore. Mine didn't break, all the screws fell out.

That was my first thought, but the fuel tank is directly behind the rear seat. I would rather drill the locks than deal with that haha. I might just buy a universal lock, and find a way to reuse pieces from the old one… or fab a new arm. I wish I payed attention to the mechanics in there before this happened 😂.

Do a search online. I'll bet someone, somewhere has experienced this before and they may have a solution.

I thought the gas tank was below in the rear? Like where a spare tire might be?

When I was running into fuel problems, I went absolutely nuts looking under the car for the fuel tank, only to find it conveniently tucked behind the seat. Thought I was going crazy!

Google searches have come up dry, thinking I may just have to take a whack at it. At least I’ll learn something new! I plan on tearing things apart tomorrow, and will keep the thread updated!
