Reluctantly for sale. I am looking for the right home for my 8/1973 FJ55. It is all stock, no cuts/hacks/piece-meals. Pulled from a field in Nevada in 2015 where it sat for about 17 years with its original owner.
In late 2016 I started the process of getting it back on the road.

The engine turned by hand with ratchet.
Soaked cylinders for 2 days before cranking.
All fluids replaced.
New points, condenser, rotor, cap, wires, plugs, coil.
Carburetor rebuilt.
New tires.
New brake master, new brake hoses.
New clutch master and slave.
New brake shoes, new wheel cylinders, drums turned.
Radiator flushed, new thermostat.
New fuel pump.
Gas tank boiled-out and sealed.
New intake/exhaust manifold.
New exhaust from headpipe back.
Steering knuckles, bearings/races, axle seals all replaced.
New windshield rubber.

Exterior lights all working.
Interior electrical (lights, heaters, speedo, gauges) in working order with exception of cigar/cigarette lighter.
Factory radio works, no speakers.
Rear window works.
Side windows work.
All glass intact.
Transmission and transfercase shift smoothly.

Only rot is on quarter panels pictured.
No roof, floor or gutter rot.

E-brake needs service.
Odometer not working.
Steering wheel has excess play. (Center arm rebuild kit included with sale.)
Needs headliner. Factory headliner removed along with the dried mice.

This is one of my daily drivers since 2017 but has been sitting more than I’d like it to for the past 6 months. I take pride in my Cruisers and consider myself to be a purist. As mentioned before, I am looking for the right home. Too many Cruisers and I just can’t give em all the attention they deserve. It has it’s cosmetic bumps and bruises but is a solid Pig. I have probably left something out so feel free to ask questions.
Personal Email is best for a timely response.

Is this the pig you got windshield for?

Agreed. Just overwhelmed with maintenance, registrations, insurance, etc. Can’t stand to see it sit. I rationalize it to myself as having eight kids, you can’t give them all the attention they need. 🤷‍♂️
