I purchased this 55 about six years ago after searching for a solid one with minimal rust for quite awhile. This one popped up locally and I jumped on it because it was in way better condition than the other ones I had looked at. It ran and drove when I purchased it but didn't stop very well due to some leaky wheel cylinders. Sometime after I purchased it I think the fuel pump went bad because it would start when you poured gas in the carb but would die after it ran out. So at that point it got parked in the shop and has been resting there ever since. So as it is right now it will need some work to get it back on the road but it has been inside a heated shop since I have owned it. The person I purchased it from had it for quite a while and his family drove it on a regular basis. He purchased it from someone that kept it parked at small Idaho resort town airport next to a hangar. That's the story I got about why one side of the body is in better shape than the other. The good side was parked next to the building. But overall the body is in pretty solid shape with minimal rust. It wouldn't take someone with some mechanical skills very long to get this pig back on the road.

This year I have decided it's time to start getting rid of some projects and letting someone else own them that will hopefully do something with them. I love 55s and wanted one for a long time and will probably regret getting rid of this one. But I have too many other projects and vehicles that are first in line and only have so much time and money to put into them. So right now I'm trying to figure out if anyone is interested in it as is or if I would be better off getting it running and driving again and then asking more for it. Either way I want to give someone on Mud the first chance before I list it on other classifieds.

So right now the feeler asking price is $4000 or best offer. Not interested in trades since I'm trying to get rid of vehicles. Like most sellers I want to get a good price but I'm in no rush to sell so I don't want to give it away.

I also have a set of 40 axles that came off my FJ40. The front axle has a Man-a-Fre disc brake conversion kit on it with nice rotors and calipers and newer Warn locking hubs. The back drum brakes I believe are in good working condition. I will include these with the purchase if the deal is right.

I also I have a lead on a nice PS front door too.

Shoot me a pm with any questions. Thanks!

Looks solid... Is there rust through anywhere?

Here is the link to my ad in the main section. It has more pics added to it. The main rust issues seem to be a small section of the floor in the area where someone put seatbelts but it's pretty small. Also the ps front fender has some bondo and possibly the ps rear quarter but not 100% sure. Pics of those areas are in the other thread.
This is one of the more rust free 55s that I have seen.
