1971 Toyota FJ55 FJ 55 Landcruiser Clean Title
Asking: $6500
Quote from listing:
"1971 Toyota FJ55 Landcruiser wagon for sale, $6,500 FIRM.
Smog exempt. Project truck. Not a small weekend project.
Currently not driveable. Bring a tow truck/flatbed.
This was meant to be a long term project but I've decided to buy a Mercedes G Class instead.
It has sat in the garage since we bought it last year.
Truck is original except for the 31" tires.
Original 1F motor with 3 speed manual transmission.
Very little rust on the body, pretty much cosmetic and not rot. Floor panels are great with no rust.
Interior is pretty much 90% there and original as well (missing some dash trim pieces and radio).
This truck would make a great restoration project. You're starting with a pretty solid base. As most FJ owners will tell you, a solid base is better than a good runner.
All it needs to get it moving is a new clutch ($300 on Ebay) and your time.
Motor fires up just fine.
There's been remarks about just fixing the clutch. My answer: $300 on Ebay for the part, $100 for tow to the shop, $200-$300 for the labor. That's not exactly cheap and I don't care to spend money where it doesn't need to be spent. My original plan was to drop in a new V8, so I saw no reason to spend $700. I'd be asking more if it were running."
