I purchased a nice Centech wiring harness (FP-100-000) and had hired someone to put it in. They decided to splice way too much of it into the existing harness. At the time I rolled with it, but I'm left finishing the work and decided to yank out a lot more of the old. (I think they just didn't want to unwind all that old electrical tape - so they spliced in near the new fuse panel and near each part being wired. So splices all over the place). I bought this nice new harness and would like to use a lot more of it than they were planning to use. Anyway, I have a question at the alternator. The Centech kit came with a red heavy guage wire labeled 'battery' and there's a white fuseable link wire with it that says (alpe or alte or something I can't quite read, then resistance - do not cut.) where does that wire go to? Are these wires even for the alternator (I could be wrong but it was in a ziplock back stating 'alternator wire,, but who knows who put what in what bag. Secondly, there's also an old regulator mounted on the firewall with wires coming from the alternator to it. Do I need this regulator? Someone said I probably didn't didn't. I did replace it with a new one a couple years ago, so it's in good shape. I've also included the electrical diagram that I am using as my guide. Thanks for your patience and help as this is my first wiring job.
