Decided to build a 60s rig. I almost have everything for it and gonna add a 2F w/4-spd.

Here’s what I have so far:
1. 1964 tub (pic)—my body guy is replacing the passenger floor, rear bed support channel and rear sill cover (all from Real Steel).
2. 1968 frame (pic) —I changed out the crossmember to the 4-spd type and just got the frame back from powdercoat.
3. Rebuilt 1982 2F engine I found in OH. It came outta a 60.
4. 4-spd (pic) from a 1976. Just finished the rebuild.
I also have the axles, bib, fenders, doors and windshield—all from early 1960s. I probably have a 3-spd t/c.

Anyways, I’m really excited to start the build. More to follow…

Well, got my buddy’s rig outta my shop (pic). I had dropped in rebuilt engine. I had rebuilt trans for him, but he gonna have to put that in himself lol.
Anyways, picked up a bunch of powder coated parts yesterday and now have room in the shop to start MY next build — yippee.

Here’s a few pics of progression—1982 2F is in. Tub is on— guess I’m going with patina look. Just finished putting on intake w/ rebuilt Holley 500cfm, headers, alt, water pump, and thermo housing.

I found the engine in OH (see pic). Took it apart and had the head rebuilt and block machined and rebuilt. Luckily, I have a machine shop <1 mi from me and a couple friends who help me w/ rebuild.

Do u need an engine? I just got back a 2F yesterday (see pics). I was gonna put it in a truck build but frame won’t b ready for 6 mos. So, I was thinking of listing this engine on Mud. And, btw I just started tearing apart another 2F too.

Oh that's sweet! It's not a desperate situation but mine is 280k into its life and one cylinder is pretty low compression so I know the day is coming. I'll shoot you a PM!

Latest:
1. Fitment. Glad I did it b/c one of the used fenders looked great but was twisted lol.
2. Pulled out the wiring harness last night and going thru it.
3. Gonna take all the body parts off and put everything on the firewall now along w/ wiring harness.

Do you still have a spare 2f? We have a 72 that needs a heart transplant.
Yes. I have a rebuilt 2F with new pistons (20 over), etc. Plus, I’m prepping a 1985 2F and 1971 1F for the machine shop too. If u want more specifics, you can call me at 989-350-8827 or PM me. Btw, I have a 72 upnorth that I just dropped an engine in and am about ready to fire it up! Here’s a pic before I put the fenders and hood back on. Thanks. Rob

Are you in the Boyne area ?

No but I travel there quite a bit. I live in Howell and have a cabin in Lewiston. I work on 40s at both locations, almost everyday, all day lol.

Today, I got the fuel pump on (w/ spacer), fuel line (metal), distr, and sealed the pushrod cover. I’m excited about having electronic ignition w/ this distr—this distr came with a used engine I bought a while back…

Now gonna put the harness back in. I had to reroute the oil pressure and alt wires b/c this 1982 2F has those on passenger side. I didn’t get a chance to set the distr until I get the flywheel in. Here’s pic.

Well, some more headway. Rebuilt both master brake and clutch cylinders. I upgraded to a double reservoir master brake and finished running the brake lines last night. I just received 2 new oil pans yesterday and putting on the engine. I don’t mess around with used oil pans anymore. I’ve found used ones have micro leaks at the skid plate. I also put on a new dipstick guide and oil pressure sender.
