Cleaning house! Selling all my old cars.

I've owned this Jeep since around 2000. It used to be in excellent shape, but my travels have forced me to neglect it. This Jeep has the more desirable flat 4 cylinder hurricane engine, original oil breather, etc. I say more desirable because it has a removable head unlike the earlier models. I think the odometer says around 19,800 miles and I believe this to be true miles. I've driven it less than 100 per year. It's 6 volt, starts and runs good. Needs tires and TLC has been sitting a while. I hate to see it get ruined so I am offering it at a relatively firm price of $1300 to local buyers, but will take $1000 to a mud member. Was on the CJ3B home page many years ago. I can provide the link if wanted. I guess it had a partial restoration many years ago, frame is solid, springs re-arched, etc. Any questions please let me know. I'll be as honest as I can. Will trade for guns, partial trade on enclosed car hauler. It's very original, has a good amount of old bondo work and body rust, but the frame and everything else is super solid.

These are awesome. I had a '46 2A and this same '53 3B.

I like the high hood, and windshield on the 3B over the 2A, did you see a noticeable difference in power, driving, etc. with the 3B over the 2A?

It was hard to tell. The engine on the 2A was pretty much worn out, but the 3B only had 9K miles on it and ran like new. I wish I still had that 3B.

Mine has 19,800 and I'd be willing to be it's actual miles. When I pulled the head off it was clean clean.

Might be parting it out, I think last time someone test drove it my father let them take it out on their own and Ironically my VIN tag is now missing...... just great..... ahhhhh arrrrrrr.......

A little suspect considering the guy really knew everything about the CJ3B's, was going to buy it, then never contacted me again.....

If you report the VIN number as stolen, you might be able to claim his whole vehicle when the bastard tries to sell or tag it. Wouldn't that be sweet justice:)

I'll have to look into that, because the last time I registered my Jeep was 2002 but I have all my old documents, tag receipts, tags, etc. I think too that I can get a new plate made like the stock one, but if two pop up in the system and I have all the documents then the other guy is going to be screwed.

This is why I hate selling cars. People are so shady sometimes.

Yeah I know what you mean... I took a deposit today on it and gave the guy 30 days to come up with final payment, at which time he picks up the Jeep. That was our pre-arranged plan from first contact. He was super excited so I figured I'd do him a solid and hold it. I remember being a kid, having no money, and missing out on great deals. The least I could do was help him out since I didn't need the money anyway. I had another guy email me and when I told him I took a deposit he was upset that I took it over his full payment. He couldn't believe I'd do that, he called me stupid in other words lol...... Believe it or not I wanted my Jeep of 11 years to go to a good home not some redneck. Hopefully I'm wrong and the plate turns up...... if not I'll report it, get with the tax assessor and have a new one made for him prior to pick up.
