16" Wheel options

Would someone please give some suggestions on some 16" wheels and possibly a tire combination. I'm not looking at getting my FJ lifted anytime in the near future but would like something a little more aggresive then the stock tires. I was also considering getting some of the black steelies that came with the base model and putting some Cooper STT on. Any comments on that would be appreciated by all. Thanks

I am wondering if the FJ40 wheels will fit. Then I only have to have one set of highway tires and one set of muds.

Just got off the phone with the tire warehouse and Motto MT700 16" wheels fit great.

Just getting my lift and tires put on now.

American Racing has 16" teflon wheels that work well.

I had the same question. The 15" rims off the 40 will not clear the calipers on the cruiser.

The dealer put Toyota TRD's on mine. BFG AT 265/75/16 tires. Love the wheels. Will be lifing my truck soon though and will have a set of BFG AT's for sale...only 5000 miles on them!

I have seen these locally and the guy was running a BFG Mud terrain 285 75 R 16 tire on Axis 16x9.0 6-139.7 wheels

I do not know backspacing or clearance bc I did not talk to him but it looked like it cleared nicely with the Revtek lift installed.

I subscribe to the wider is better theory and getting 16" wheels with less backspacing is hard to do. I ended up with the 16x8 3.6" backspaced MT Classic 2s on my 80. This particular wheel would fit both a FJ Cruiser and a 40. It looks like the Axis wheel above without the fake beadlock. I'm not sure if the FJ Cruiser could handle that much width though. If I were in the market I'd ask places like RevTek who have aftermarket wheels what the specs are of their wheels and if they have issues with rubbing. The offset of the wheels will contribute significantly to how a tire will rub if it is going to rub.
