Hi there, I'm new to this forum hopefully you can help me out.

I'm looking at upgrading my 15x8 (-25 offset) rims and 31x10.5 tyres with 15x10 (-44 offset) rims and 33x12.5 tyres. The truck is a 1993 4 door 70 series.

Does anyone have any photos of a similar setup or advice?

I don't mind the tyres sticking out a little but not excessively. I have small rubber flares about 45mm.

I noticed some 15x10 come in -38 offset but not much different to -44 I guess.

Cheers

Will

I've got an 88 BJ70 and I'm thinking the exact same thing! Ive got the same rubber flares under the arches. Only thing is I think It might need extended shackles to get full clearance on the 33's? Interested to know how u go, you in Aus?

Oh BTW, it looks tough!! You'll probably have to order the rims so u should def go -44! :-)

Hey guys. you really gotta watch your front caliper clearance when using 15 inch rims. -38mm rubbed my caliper and i would need a 1/4" to fit it. -46mm(3.5"bs) just barely clears the wheel weights, tie rods and i have an 1/8" clearamce to the caliper. not sure if HD and LD clearances are the same. just be sure before ordering. cheers

Cheers Yotahed, I hadn't heard that before but I am only new! I've lined up a set of 15x10 sunys with bald 35's on them, offset looks good as there's heaps of dish. They're off a 40 with 60 diffs. Don't know much more than that so just gonna suck it and see! Lol will post pics next week and let u know how it goes!! :-)

My cruiser knowledge is minimal but I've seen coils in the LD (think they're the 22R petrol bundera here in aus). My HD with 3B Turbo (BJ70) has leaf f/end so think clearances def prob different

Well I've ordered a set of 15x10 Procomp Rockcrawlers. And 33" tyres to go with. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks for the help. My 70 has leafs up front also, and a 4" lift. I'm over in NZ by the way. What's this"HD" and "LD" you guys talking about?

HD is heavy duty cruisers, like BJ70, HZJ75 etc
LD is light duty, like KZJ78, LJ71 there the Prados here in NZ.
Personally Id go 8inch rims with 33/12.5 tyres, the narrower the rim the more pressure you have on the bead when airing down. Others will argue that though.

Okay, I got the 15x10's but I think they're the wrong offset or something?!? I've got some serious tracking issues, and not ur normal tracking issues this is more like random ghost tracking that is seriously not cool. I'm used to large and wide rims that follow the road but this is craaaaazy! A mechanic mate has told me that it's cos of the offset and the centerline of the wheel. Does anyone have any experience with this issue? It looks awesome but is seriously seriously not drivable

Have you had any luck finding a solution to this? What offset are the rims?

My new set arrives in a couple of days, same size, I'll let you know how it goes.

As far as 15" vs 16" goes, most of the earlier ones seem I run 15's and my truck came with 15's so saw no reason to change to 16"... I don't know of any advantage either way unless you have issues with clearing brakes?
