My 1980 HJ45 has the 16" split wheels on it. Drums all around. Question. I'm thinking about getting some 15" stock steel wheels from SOR. Anyone know if they'll fit around the HJ45 drums? There's some space now as is. Hopefully some one out there has done this. SOR says they'll fit, but....I'd rather have a testimonial than a sales pitch. The reason I ask is that SOR has a no returns no refund policy on their used wheels.
Here's the SOR wheel I'm talking about. Thanks for the help.

What are you going to do with your split rims if you get the new wheels. If selling, I may be interested.

Hey Bull -- you've seen it done? I imagine they get close to the drum -- but just enough to squeak by....thank you.

Rhinoliner -- I haven't decided what's happening with the 16's. I'll be sure to keep ya in the loop.

I assume you're looking at the $75 (080-09B-U) wheels for 1975-1984 trucks? They have the same picture for the cheaper wheels for the older model... I'm looking for something similar...

I'n not sure what happened -- but my wheels came today and they don't fit around the drums.....the center hole is right and the lug pattern is good, but they won't squeeze up flush against the drum...i'm beside myself right now. I already ordered tires for 15's, and paid to ship these "non-returnable" wheels from SOR....anyone know what the heck is going on? My truck is a non-us 1980 hj45...it has 16" wheels currently ( splits ) Everyone said they would fit, so I just assumed they would. Even SOR said they would....

thanks

Hmmm..

That is odd. Do you have pics of the wheels and part #s? What backspacing are the wheels?

I have some 1/4" spacers you can have that might help your issue, but I'm still wondering why your shizznay won't bolt to the bizznay..

i'm looking and they're riveted......................did I order the wrong wheels? Like a chump...?

Backspacing looks to be 3.75". The part number I ordered from SOR is: 080-09A-U. The guy said the ones I wanted, the080-09B-U's were out of stock, but these others would fit fine. The wheel is stamped, but there's a rivet right through the stamp...

I'm pretty sure those wheels won't work for your application. I may have 3 or 4 disc brake wheels that will work. I can even test fit them ;)

leave those wheels in the boxes and call SOR tomorrow and tell them they don't work etc..

I've never seen the back of a welded center wheel -- is it more flush than the all the steel that sticks out on the inside of the riveted one...

If you have the ones that work, I'd love to get them from ya. I plan on chatting with SOR in the morning...hopefully they take them back, even though tthe website says they won't.....anyway. I'll be anxious to hear about your disc wheels. They're the same style, just newer right? I'd take whatever you have, but 4 would certainly be ideal.
