I just picked up a 1986 FJ60 that had been 13B-T swapped at some point in its life. The swap was done well on the mechanical side of things, but the electrical system is a mess. There's a plethora of additional gauges all over the place that don't work. In fact, the only gauge that I know for sure is working is the stock tach. The exterior lights work, but are all dim enough as to not be working. The climate control and stereo don't work either, and all of this leads me to believe that the person who did the swap didn't do the work to make the stock 12v system in the FJ60 work with the 24v system required for the 13B-T. My question is if there's some way to be able to wire the batteries in a way that allows me to run 12v to everything but the starter and the glow system? If it's possible to do that, I think that would be best, as that would allow me to use stock FJ60 replacement parts. I'm completely new to the world of both diesels and 24v systems, though, so I'm open to suggestions. My priorities for functionality are the exterior lights and the wiper motor. As long as those are working, I can drive it just fine, so I can work through the rest at my leisure.
