Is this for an FT?

I’m going down the rabbit hole of building a mechanically converted FTE with a Yanmar 6LPA pump and I’m going to try a 1HZ/1HDT 13613-17010.

Since the 6LPA – STP2 is pretty much an FT… I wonder if one of those injection pump gears would work. There are a couple in on eBay, but they have a high mark up. Yanmar part number is 119771-00160….

A cursory look at FT versus FTE versus Yanmar 6LPA oil pumps and timing covers shows that the Yanmar may be more like an FTE but it still has a two bolt pump. If I figure anything out I’ll report back.

Greg, I just lowballed someone on eBay to get a used 6LPA – STP2 injection pump gear. I will measure it and see if I can learn anything useful for you.

Yes, for a 1997 1hd-ft. I also confirmed with Stedman. A quick search is ~300 euros for that gear.... Worth it if I can restock or confirm prior to purchase. I've got some other feelers out there, hoping to get lucky. I'm also going to see if I can get my gear checked; Its the taper on the gear for the injector pump that's in question.

Any help is appreciated!

Greg, it's the taper on the input shaft of the infection pump AND the taper on the gear that's bigger. I'm sending a Yanmar 6LPA-STP pump and the -STP injection pump gear off to Australia to have it de-tuned and the shop promises to send me something that works - whether it is a 1HZ (-17010) gear mated to a 1HZ injection pump input shaft or something else. I will start a thread about it somewhere else.

Thanks for this information. I was able to repair the gear. I had a machine shop we know the owner of cut the keyway larger on the gear, and then they manufactured a custom step key. they also had to polish the taper, and machine the cap nut so that it actually clamps the assembly together. So there was three things wrong with the gear.
