The rear hatch release on my ‘13 LC is on its last leg. I have to push the release pad about 20+ times until it releases, and sometimes it’s just a partial firing of the latch actuator and can only slightly open the hatch. This has been a progressive problem. Battery is fine. Other doors and all other electrical working. FYI, I have replaced 2 or 3 of the actuators over the years on the other doors.

Not sure if this is a pad (switch) failure or an actuator issue.

Any thoughts or similar experiences?

Thanks!

Putting a bow on this thread: Brought to Toyota dealer today and they replaced the hatch switch assembly and that fixed it. $150 for labor ($111 for switch). If I did it myself it would have cost more, because I would have empirically changed the actuator first. I was pretty impressed that they had the part in stock. Working great. Nice to be able to open the tailgate again reliably.
