Has anyone ever experienced this before? Before shutting off the engine, HVAC vent fan/AC is on.

Observing the following:
  • Scenario 1: Shut down engine, fan continues to run. Air that flows through the vents appear to be ambient temperature
  • Scenario 2: Shut down engine, everything shuts off normally. Come back to the truck in a few minutes, the fan is running, again, air flowing appears to be ambient temp.
Appears that either scenario 1 or 2 (99% of the time, scenario 2) happens consistently. I have not observed either case if I set HVAC controls to OFF before shutting down the engine. My wife had to move the car in our hotel parking lot the other night and we didn't think anything of it. Next morning, the battery was completely dead with a 5V reading. Went ahead and replaced it for the time being and now we're making sure we set everything to OFF before getting out of the car.

Here's a video of me messing with the controls this morning. Had to walk back to the car and noticed the fan was running again. I set Engine Start Stop mode to Accessory with no change (that's when the video starts). You can see the climate controls are greyed out in ACC mode but the fan is running. Then I switch to Ignition mode, and the fan is on at full blast and I'm then able to turn it off.

Couldn't find anything in the search, but did find one instance with a Tundra. And some anecdotal information on MUD. We're on a road trip with another week or so to go so I'd love to be able to figure out what it possibly might be so I can sleep a little easier, and avoid killing another battery. Thank you!

Hi all my aunt is having an issue where her A/C blower / fan stays on after the car is shut off. This is causing the battery to die. She has had some AC Fan control module replaced and it seemed to fix the issue for a few months but the issue has come up again. Any ideas?
