13-BT pressure testing radiator to find leak...thermostat question

1986 BJ74 with a 13-BT engine...

Given that the thermostat is directly under the "radiator" cap, do I need to remove the thermostat before pressure testing the radiator?

I assume so since it should be closed when cold and would prevent the radiator from getting any pressure. Correct?

There is a bypass hole in the thermostat so pressure will go in the whole system I believe.
