Guys: I'm looking for a 12 volt heater to run when I sleep in the TLC or trooper. I'd prefer one w/ a thermostat so I don't run battery down overnight.

You'd better get dual batteries with isolation if you want to run a 12vt heater enough to keep warm. Heaters use alot of juice and you don't want to get stuck. Of course, you could always ask for a jump.:frown:

Run the truck enough to warm up the inside. Turn it off and run one or two 12vt DC heaters. The ones I used were actually designed to defroat windshields quickly. Otherwise, a nice power converter and and an AC heater is the way to go.

Either way. Dual batteries are a must. Preferably a deep cycle for the converter.

This belongs in the Outfitting forum.

Which happens to have a Heater thread going right now.
