So another one for you guys. Finished my swap from a 2h to 12ht. After a good drive I notice the engine takes its time to shut down after turning the key. Seems to be longer or shorter depending on the drive which leads me to think it's some sort of cool down timer possibly for the turbo. However as we all know the 12ht isn't the most electronic of engines needing only 2 wires attached... is there some sort of inbuilt timer in the engine that I'm not aware of? Could the vsv or solenoid that controls the butterfly valve just be slow? It doesn't bother me that much and is actually useful after a long drive, provided i remember about it and don't just take my foot off the clutch after turning the key.

Any ideas welcome

There no timer on the engine but it sounds like the vacuum line to the shut down flap may be kinked slowing the vacuum supply down. Check the lines for obstructions also one off the lines may be leaking air in somewhere.

Thanks again mate shall look into the lines being possibly blocked as there are no obvious kinks. I have noticed the vsv that controls the butterfly valve solenoid is only getting 8 volts for some reason, another thing to track down I guess

Seems I'm going around in circles with this engine lately. Fix one thing and another breaks... Found the culprit for the vacuum leak, was a hose that didn't go where it was meant to. Thanks for the starting points though, probably wouldn't have found it otherwise. Down, I'm probably due for a new alternator very soon anyway.

I don't have any vacuum issues, I have removed it all. Even the butterfly gone now. That is my intake now straight to a front mount.

That looks intriguing but I'm not quite understanding what I'm looking at... how does that work

That is a 12ht intake manifold modified, no longer need the heater element or butterfly because I have replaced injector pump with a rotary pump with has a electric stop solenoid. In the pick I just have it bolted to some flat steel so when I welded it kept its shape.

Other than the obvious lack of vacuum hose spaghetti what advantage does all that give? Not really too familiar with mods of this sort just yet but maybe one day down the track

It allows for more air to be forced in evenly.
And pump is for more fuel higher pressure then you can run bigger nozzles on injectors.
Spins the black round things harder

Ahh, don't have a great need to spin those black things any harder or faster at the moment, still amazed at the power difference I have after swapping out the old 2h.
