I am doing a clutch replacement and am trying to figure out how the pilot bearing position itself onto the
shaft. I took a pic of the shaft and wonder it the bronze area is as far as the bearing sits, or does it actually pressure fit onto the base of the shaft right at the end of the splines? I got the kit from Cruiser Outfitters and was told there was only one pilot bearing option. On the bench it seems like almost a
'press fit' to get the pilot bearing over the final base of the nose of the shaft. Is this how tight it should be?

I don't have a 12ht, but thought it had a roller bearing pilot?

I had problems with my Isuzu diesel needle bearing pilot. I switched to a bushing, which IMHO, is better than a needle type. I think and have been told that roller bearings are better still, and I am switching to a stock Isuzu roller pilot with my new engine.

Its a sealed bearing type. I installed the pilot bearing, and it will be a press fit as far as I can tell.
The old one that came off, was easily worn to slide on and off with ease.
