12ht intermittent stalling

hey all
out on our last two trips the truck has had a few issues! when you come to a stop and the truck drops in revs to idle it stalls out! also seems more frequent when the a/c is switched on. am wondering if anyone else has had any issues like this or have any ideas on where to start looking

My first thought would be to check the fuel filter. You may have more luck over on the diesel section though.

fuel seems to be ok am leaning towards an electrical issue maybe a soleniod ????

Just a thought mate. The rev advance for the a/c is sometimes vacuum opperated and may not be bringing the revs up in response to additional engine load as it's switched on

AJ, you should also check the fuel cut off solenoid/connections on the pump, these have been known to rub through and cause the same symptons, that and filters. If all else fails, when did you last have the pump and injectors looked at?

12ht's have a habit of stretching the springs in the governor of the injector pump which causes them to stall after being reved and let back to idle may not be your problem but it is a fairly common problem with them

I would start with the water separator .. yes, it rust and allow air in the line thought a pin hole in someplace.

coey might be on the money with this one,mine does it as well,but never that bad that its stalled,a cuppla bottles of injector cleaner has helped,i thought it might be just wear in the pump somewhere,when your air cons on is it idling up sometimes,you should hear a click when the air con pump clicks in then the idle should bump up.
if you havent got a factory manual i can check out the idle speeds in mine if ya need them.
