I'm getting new tires and one of my neighbors has a set of 12" rims that he wants to get rid of. Just wondering if there was any problems with going wider. I do like the idea of a wider wheel base.

Thanks for any advice.

what tire?

Rims should be 66% of the section width of the tire. Period. Any wider and you will have issues holding a bead...12.5 tires belong on an 8" rim, 14.5/15.5 tires on a 10" rim.

Ok yoda...errr isotel..

Post up a pic of this......please...I would love to see this ride...

Thanks!

the tires I will be getting are all terrains bfg's 35" 12.5 R15. I know... I know... why all terrain. It will be my daily driver and I will go off- road once or twice a month. :D

I do have a 10" rim but probably won't go smaller than that.

here is the truck with the 12"ers

he put on 35 12.50 procomp mud's but as you can see they rubbed like hell and now he is running bfg ATKO 33 12.50

We tried to Mount the tires on a normal machine for about 2 hours before we gave up and went to somone who had a bead Blaster,

look you can see my cruiser's Amby Door in the picture!! 8)
BTW its an Isusu Pup w/ the strongest running 4 cly ive ever drivin.. He is a little off of center on stuff but atleast he has somthing different that no one elce dose, lol :flipoff2:

Now off to Dagobah for some Rest, 800 years old and up till 2 in the mornin..
Yoda Out...

I run 35x12.50 BFG Muds on 10" wheels. I know it is crazy, but I am crazy. Heck, I'm nuttier than a squirrel turd! :flipoff2:

I've had no problems with this setup, wheeling rocks at 12 lbs I've never lost a bead...of course I aint a regular in the "Hardcore" section of Mud, either!

:D
