I've been using 58" Yakima round bars with Timberline towers on my factory rails with not many complaints other than lack of versatility and aesthetics. I want to "upgrade" this year while still using the factory rails and change to (3) 1020 bars. I know the Gamiviti wing brackets just came out so maybe nobody here has used them yet, but the angle brackets have been around a little while. I'm curious if anyone has used those to mount 1x2 extrusion bars, and what the wind noise is like? My thought is that it could be tolerable or even less than the Yakima bars because the wing brackets mount the bars flush right on top of the side rails for a nice clean look. The leading edge still has the T-slot channel exposed though. I can also order the wind fairing and fairing mounts for extra assurance, but that puts me over $500, and that's halfway to a Prinsu rack. I just don't have any real need for a full roof rack, but I have needs beyond the factory rack and I don't love the way the timberline clamp-on towers look. It's just a bit tacky IMO.
Backup plan is the LFD crossbar kit that has been getting a lot of attention here, that comes with 4 bars, one of them with a build in wind fairing.
