I haven't been around mud for very long so forgive the ignorance but... Who's Robbie? Sounds like someone to get to know.

Robbie Antonson is the Technical Editor of Toyota Trails and has a shop in Boulder, CO. He also travels a lot building Land Cruiser engines (well, he did at least for a bit). He was with Slee Off Road for many years as well before going on his own. I'd say Robbie knows his stuff and has probably built more 1FZ engines than anyone in North America.

I have both an 80 and have three 100s. They are similar as far as durability goes. The added gadgets and electronics can sometimes go on the 100s. On two of the 100s, I have had to replace the air conditioning lines because they run under the truck to the back and they corrode. I have the Lexus versions, and have the AHC. I have never had a problem with that.

:eek::eek:you have an 80 and THREE 100's??:eek::eek:
We just picked up a 100 & are debating selling the 80. I feel like having 2 LC's is a little over-the-top (I only feel that way - I'm not saying it is) but FOUR?? Lol.

Makes me feel a little better about my feelings of keeping the 80 & getting even a third one, like I'd love to do.

So where is your oil well located?

Mcgaskins - my apologies for posting but not answering your question. I own an 80 currently with 172k miles on it. It has been one of the most incredible, most capable vehicles I've ever owned. I baselined it at about 120k miles and have been fortunate to not have a HG failure yet.

I'm suffering through a few things like rusting metals lines underneath, etc. also the typical rust on the tailgate and now on the door bottoms. Hence, trying to figure out whether to throw money into it or what.

I have had three. Right now I have two 100s and an 80. One of the 100s is about to be sold. So the new 100 will be my wife's DD and the 80 is my backup car since my normal car can't go on snow.
