Aside from rust, anything I should look out for? Mechanically, what should be done or is due soon? Stock, could it tow a 77 on a flat bed?

Definitely make sure or budget for the 90K mile maintenance (Timing belt, water pump, starter). I'd check coil packs too as I just had a couple go out on me.

Not totally sure on the weight of a 77 for towing. Towing rating it 6500# if I remember correctly depending on your hitch setup.

I'm in southern Illinois - other side of the state - about an hour east of St. Louis, if you don't have anyone to pick it up for you and store it I have a 14' car carrier trailer I can load it up on and store it in the garage until you get back in country.
