I'm currently an 80 owner but am planning to purchase a 100 in the near future. I've seen some 100's with flares and lower cladding on them (which I don't care for) and was wondering it is easily removed or if there will be mounting holes in need of filling etc. Anyone been down this road before? I know the LX 450 has this issue and there are many holes in the sheet metal at anchor points.

TIA

LX470 has cladding, which I believe to be as difficult to remove as on the LX450 in terms of holes to deal with etc. However there are some 100 series that have fender flares, not sure if this was dealer or port installed. Don't care for those either. Not sure if there are holes behind them.

I would assume the 470 cladding is the same as the 450 as they are both Lexus and the cladding /flares are factory standard. On the cruiser however, I believe the flares are port /dealer installed. I am hoping to hear they are held in place using stock mounting points and/or double stick tape. If the latter is true I wouldn't walk from a well kept truck ( with the flares )at the right price because I could easily remove them.

just rip it off and repair. a few holes can be filled in easy enough with a welder. get it touch up painted and then scratch the hell out of it in the woods. or unless this is a parking lot 4x4. then keep the flares and be a wuss.

I just removed the flares on my 99 cruiser. They are held on by bolts and clips, but all the holes are in the wheel wells. I just replaced the screws once the flare was gone, looks fine. There is some glue/sticky "stuff" between the black rubber at the top of each flare and the body. I still haven't removed it all yet. It is very stickey and I don't know the best way to get it off...any ideas? Other problems were the flare clips had chipped away at paint and gotten down to the body metal. Touch up paint fixed that.

All in all very easy to remove, just requires some time spent cleaning up whats left.

Thanks for your reply Matt. I was hoping they were put on that way. This opens up the pool of potential cruisers I can consider.
