Do the switches just pop out? in the photos above that show the center console switches, they look like they have clamps I'd be scared to break.I just replaced my burned out rear window vent, AHC, and PWR/2nd switch bulbs. Quite easy. Turns out Dorman replacement bulbs 639-041 (Toyota) and 639-003 (Honda) work for those who don’t want to go LED. They were about 1/3 the price at Advanced Auto Parts compared to the Toyota bulbs listed above at the dealer.
Wouldn't have believed that if I hadn't tried it myself. Any idea why LC bulb slot is inoperative? Thx!FYI, The mirror adjust switch has a socket for a bulb but it is inoperative in LC`s so don't waste a bulb in there expecting it to light up, it won't. LX470's have similar switch parts but theirs actually do light up.
From what I've read, only vehicles with folding mirrors get the lighted switch. Lexus mainly. Don't know if any LC's had that option.Wouldn't have believed that if I hadn't tried it myself. Any idea why LC bulb slot is inoperative? Thx!
Ahhhh, mine are the manual folding. Makes sense. Thx for the response. Have a good one. From what I've read, only vehicles with folding mirrors get the lighted switch. Lexus mainly. Don't know if any LC's had that option.
I don't know, sorry. Heck, I'm still trying to figure out a multitude of things on my Land Cruiser.Do the same bulbs work for LX470? The aftermarket Dorman bulbs mentioned here supposedly don't, according to Dorman. Thanks.
Like today, I unfortunately discovered that the rear window defrost and side view mirror defrost button backlight bulbs (that are burnt out on my 2001 LC) are soldered into the circuit board. Certainly not the normal "pull the old one and plug in new one" replacement. Aaaarrrggghhh!I don't know, sorry. Heck, I'm still trying to figure out a multitude of things on my Land Cruiser.
SOLVED! I was mistaken. The bulbs can be replaced without soldering or desoldering. If you are careful, you can gently pry up the small brown rectangles off the circuit board, run the wire terminals from your new bulb through the two small holes in bottom of small rectangle and up the side grooves and then reset the small brown rectangle back on the prongs.Like today, I unfortunately discovered that the rear window defrost and side view mirror defrost button backlight bulbs (that are burnt out on my 2001 LC) are soldered into the circuit board.
