Hi, i have a 2005 100-series landcruiser auto, with 1HDFTE. recently we tried shifting the little 4wd lever and its not moving (jammed). how can i release it??? what to check. any ideas will be appreciated. Thanks:)

Confirm you're trying to shift the transfer case while in Neutral?

^^This. The main gear shift has to be in "N" (neutral) for the transfer case to be switched from high to low and vice-versa. Do not try to force it.

Sometimes you have to move the truck slightly and go back to neutral on the transmission to get the gears lined up. But the transfer case shifter still moves to neutral.

yes the main gear is in neutral when i try to shift the little 4WD lever which has only H / L written on it. but still its hard and does not go up or down. how to release it or what to check??

you shouldn't pull as if trying to break it, obviously, but these things are usually quite a bit harder to shift than the transmission shifter, with a noticeable resistance. But the resistance is more a hump than a hard wall. How hard are you pulling?
(never had to move either the 80 or 100 to get it in Low, btw)
