Well I've spent several hours now reading nearly every thread on Mud having to do with antenna switches and haven't found an answer to my question. I DID, as I always do here, find a lot of inspiring LC mods though. Well worth the time spent. Here's my question:
I'm installing a ham radio in my 2000 UJZ100. The radio will have an antenna mounted on a Diamond motorized mount attached to the roof rack. I need a switch for the mount that doesn't look quite a cheesy as the stock Diamond switch. The stock antenna switch would be ideal: right icons and everything.
In researching the parts drawings though, it looks like the switch itself is part of the heater assembly. I've found the "knob" (Toyota's Jinglish for the switch cover) but not the switch itself. Is this correct? Is the switch itself built in to the heater control and not available as a separate part? I did this on my 80 and that switch, of course, is a separate part.
And, lastly, if the 100 antenna switch isn't available, does anyone know of a switch that will fit the 100 switch knockouts? I have this very cool microphone holder from Christo with a standard switch knockout. Perfect place for the antenna switch. Ideas anyone?
